Victim Advocacy Resources

Developed by the West Virginia and Mississippi State CAC Chapters with input from the field, the Field Guide to Family Advocacy was initially designed for newly hired family advocates to help orient them to their new roles within CACs. When it became apparent that the Field Guide could have national relevance, the state chapters partnered with SRCAC to enlist national experts to further enhance the existing material and create additional chapters, making this an invaluable guide for not only family advocates but for all members of an MDT.
The NCAC's Virtual Training Center (VTC) offers hundreds of courses and webinars, many of them centered around Victim Advocacy. You must have a login to access the VTC, but it is free to sign up.

The Supervisor Manual is a companion guide to the Field Guide to Family Advocacy and is geared toward professionals who supervise family advocates. The first section covers the basics of supervision, while the second section offers supplementary information to the Field Guide and provides additional resources that will help you onboard your CAC’s family advocates.
These Guidelines were created by the four Regional Children's Advocacy Centers in collaboration with NCA and the National Children's Advocacy Center.
