Virtual Training
TF-CBT: Advanced Topics is a two-day virtual training aimed at TF-CBT therapists and supervisors who have completed the basic TF-CBT training and consultation calls. It includes discussion of the following topics:
- Administering TF-CBT in Cases of Complex Trauma
- Child Traumatic Grief, Traumatic Separation, and Ambiguous Loss
- High Risk Behaviors in Adolescents
In addition, there will be opportunities for therapists to interact and share ideas and resources with each other. The training will conclude with a Q&A session with the facilitators.
This training is designed for clinical supervisors and therapists who currently provide services to children aged 3-18 at a CAC. You do not have to be nationally certified in TF-CBT in order to attend this training. However, you must have at least completed basic TF-CBT training, which includes:
- completion of the basic three-day training on TF-CBT
- completion of at least 9 following consultation calls

Due to the demand for TF-CBT training, we are currently allowing a maximum of two therapists to attend from any one CAC. Additionally, because this program is funded by a grant from the Department of Justice to provide training to CACs and MDTs within the Southern region, we will be accepting applications from only the Southern region (AL, AR, DE, GA, FL, KY, LA, MD, MS, OK, NC, SC, TN, TX, VA, WV and DC) at this time.
Jennifer Wilgocki, MS, LCSW
Jennifer has been a child and family therapist for 25 years and a clinical supervisor for 18 years, specializing in the treatment of trauma, attachment disorders, children in foster care, and high-risk adolescent behaviors. She is the co-author of Maybe Days: A Book for Children in Foster Care. She is an approved national trainer and consultant for Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Cognitive-Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS). Jennifer has a private practice in the Midwest Center for Psychotherapy and Sex Therapy in Middleton, Wisconsin. In addition to providing psychotherapy at Midwest Center, Jennifer frequently provides training and consultation to therapists locally, regionally, and nationally.
Kelly Wilson, LCSW
Kelly is a clinician, consultant and trainer working in Madison, WI. She has over 20 years experience in children’s mental health specializing in the treatment of child traumatic stress. Kelly has worked extensively with children in therapeutic foster care and in the outpatient treatment setting. She is a nationally recognized trainer of Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress (SPARCS) and Psychological First Aid (PFA). Kelly has a passion for spreading evidence-based assessment and treatment models to frontline mental health professionals using the latest advances in Implementation Science.
Session schedule:
- Day 1: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
- Day 2: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Virtual training will be held over Zoom. Registrants will receive a link in their confirmation email. Attendee are required to have their cameras on for the duration of the training.
Continuing education (CE) for this training is sponsored by the National Children’s Advocacy Center (NCAC). Applications for CE credits will be available during the training. You must be in full attendance each day to receive credit. For virtual trainings, attendees are required to have their cameras on for the duration of the training. It is the responsibility of participants to check the regulations of their state licensing jurisdictions for CE requirements.
CE Credit Offered
Social Work: this program is approved by the National Association of Social Workers (Approval # 886746741-5395) for 10 continuing education contact hours.
Counseling: this program is approved by the National Board for Certified Counselors for 10 continuing education contact hours.
Hours
Up to 5.00 contact hours are available per day. CE credit is awarded on a daily basis, with daily attendance required. Partial daily credit is not offered.
Application
Applications will be available during the training. Participants wishing to make application for CE must submit a completed application within 30 days of attending the training. Applications received after 30 days will not be processed.
Certificate
CE verification is emailed to continuing education applicants following receipt of completed CE forms. All participants are required to be in full attendance each day.
Need a duplicate certificate?
To obtain an official duplicate CE Certificate for a training sponsored by NCAC, attendees must submit a request form and $15.00 fee payment to NCAC. The fee payment may be submitted electronically or by mail.
- Due to the volume of requests for duplicate certificates, receiving your certificate may take up to two weeks.
- Registration and attendance records are only kept on file for six (6) years. We are not able to honor requests for certificates for trainings or conferences that happened more than six years ago from today’s date.
Duplicate certificates are $15.00. Please consider your request carefully before submitting a form and payment, as there are no refunds for this service.

Non-Credit Events
CE is not awarded for the opening remarks, introductions, breaks, or lunch.
Skill Level
Training content offered is for beginning skill level.
Instructional Methodology
Lecture, demonstration, audio/visual, experiential practice of techniques, case-study, research presentation, large and small group discussion methodologies are used.

Grievance Policy
While the NCAC CE Program attempts to anticipate issues and assure fair treatment for all participants to conduct and experience valid and successful CE activities, there may be occasional issues which require intervention and/or action on the part of NCAC’s CE Program.
If a participant is not satisfied with the CE Program for any reason, the participant should submit a written complaint or grievance to the National Children’s Advocacy Center Attn: Training Center, 210 Pratt Avenue, NE, Huntsville, AL 35801 or via email at conted@nationalcac.org within 30 days following completion of the CE Program (e.g., event, course, scheduled training). The NCAC Training Center shall address participants’ complaints and grievances in accordance with the procedures outlined below in this statement of CE Grievance Policy and Procedures.
Grievance Policy Procedures:
- To register a complaint or grievance (e.g., refund request or complaints about course content, facilities, non-receipt of certificates, or any matter/occurrence) related to the CE Program, submit a written, detailed complaint or grievance to the National Children’s Advocacy Center Training Center, 210 Pratt Avenue, NE, Huntsville, AL 35801 or via email at conted@nationalcac.org within 30 days following completion of the CE Program.
- The CE Program will respond in a timely and ethical manner.
- Complaints will be reviewed by the CE Program Coordinator and the CE Advisory Committee and responded to in writing within 30 days after receipt of written complaint.
- The written response will document the complaint/grievance and the involvement of each member of the CE Advisory Committee in the discussion and resolution of the issue; and
- The written response will inform the complainant that if there is a dissatisfaction with the resolution proposed by the CE Program, he/she may request a fair hearing for due process review or mediation by a neutral party.
- A record of all written complaints/grievances and the CE Program’s written response to these are kept on file in the CE Program Office and reported to necessary CE approval boards during renewal application. Summary information is shared with CE Advisory Committee and utilized to improve future courses.
There is no fee to attend this training. However, anyone who is interested in attending this training must complete an application. Applications are open to clinical supervisors and therapists employed by or in contract with a CAC in the Southern region. However, due to the demand for TF-CBT training, we are currently allowing a maximum of two clinicians to attend from any one CAC.
Because this is a live training with the option of receiving Continuing Education credits, attendees are required to have their cameras on for the duration of the training.
