Come Prepared and Leave In Sync

Structuring Pre- and Post-Forensic Interview Discussions to Boost MDT Collaboration

Presented by: Christina Rouse, MSW & Lydia Johnson Grady, LMSW

Teams come together at critical moments in a case—but without clear structure, those moments can be missed opportunities for collaboration. One of the most consistent times MDT partners gather is at the CAC for the forensic interview. How can teams make the most of that time? In this webinar, participants will explore how structured pre- and post-forensic interview discussions can strengthen coordination, clarify roles, and improve outcomes for children and families. Drawing on research and field-informed practice, we will share practical strategies for using these discussions as intentional alignment opportunities. You will leave with concrete tools and facilitation tips to help your MDT come prepared, stay aligned, and leave in sync.

Note: A certificate of completion is NOT issued for viewing a webinar. Webinars are offered as a knowledge resource and enrichment tool and do not have knowledge checks.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will identify four core functions of a child abuse multidisciplinary team (MDT).
  2. Participants will describe four potential benefits of a well-structured pre-forensic interview team process.
  3. Participants will identify key components of a pre- and post-forensic interview discussion structure.
